- 08/08/10: Work party 1pm - 4pm at the school.
Bring your tools! (shovels, trowels, weed-wackers, clippers, hedge trimmers, paint brushes, sanders, gloves, wheelbarrows, etc) - We will be doing all kinds of weeding, trimming, painting, repairing, completing our little play & garden areas, sweeping, planting, etc.

Nye Beach Montessori School
Nye Beach Montessori School is a special preschool and kindergarten for children 3 to 6 years of age.
Morning and afternoon classes are available with before and after school care offered for those families needing full/part time care.
An advanced kindergarten program is offered for children ages 4 1/2 ro 6 years of age.
We at Nye Beach Montessori are proud to provide an atmosphere where a child's physical and emotional security are safeguarded and where self esteem and natural curiosity are appreciated and nurtured.
Montessori Philosophy
Our school places equal emphasis on a solid academic program, artistic expression, social development and attention to the inner life and natural rythmn of each child.
The environment is pleasing and soothing, providing an atmosphere that fosters each childs learning style...thus creating a community of lifelong learning.
Nye Beach Montessori Pre School & Kindergarten is a traditional Montessori School, based on the philosophies and theories of Dr. Maria Montessori, which incorporate physical, mental, spiritual and social development in the education of children.
Everyrthing in the classroom is child size and intended for students use. The special materials are designed to help the child see, hear and feel in physical form the abstract principles of math, reading and writing, geography, botany, etc.
Maria Montessori called the schools, "Childrens Houses" where children of mixed ages interact and help each other. The goal of our school is not to provide the child merely with academic knowledge, but rather to offer a loving environment which enables the child to evolve mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually at his or her own pace.
Songs and Stories
Linda Yapp founded Nye Beach Montessori in 1983. Over the years she has taught over 1000 children in the classroom incorporating her music and song in the students' daily activities.
